Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a vehicle fire involving a plumbing box truck around 2:15 p.m. on Olney Laytonsville Road at Fieldcrest Road in Gaithersburg on Sunday afternoon.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the truck was fully engulfed in flames, which were later extinguished. HazMat crews also responded due to potential hazards, including lithium-ion batteries and oxygen tanks. Some traffic lanes in the area were blocked during the response.
