Police Investigate Two Unrelated Frederick Road Murders on Monday

Montgomery County Police Detectives are investigating two unrelated homicides that occurred Monday on Frederick Road.

Around 2:40AM Monday, Montgomery County Police 5th District Officers along with Firefighters and Paramedics responded to the 22800 block Frederick Road in Clarksburg for a shooting. 56-year-old Maryann Blackburn had been shot twice and succumbed to her injuries later in the day Monday. Police have 24-year-old David Mark Blackburn in custody; he is charged with first degree murder in the death of his mother.

Around 4:50PM Monday, Montgomery County Firefighters, Paramedics, and Police 5th District Officers responded to the Oak Mill Apartments on Frederick Road in Germantown for a reported cardiac arrest. While responders were en route, it became clear that the person went into cardiac arrest after being shot. Responders arrived and found an adult male who had been shot and killed. He died on the scene. Several individuals attempted to flee the scene immediately after the murder but were stopped and are being questioned by officers and detectives.

Both homicides are being investigated by the Montgomery County Police 5th District as well as Montgomery County Police Homicide Section Detectives.
