Around 8:20PM Friday, a pedestrian was killed while crossing Southbound New Hampshire Avenue near Elton Road and the Hillandale Shopping Center. The striking vehicle, believed to be a 2007-2009 Nissan, fled the scene.
The pedestrian who died at the scene was identified as 66-year-old Mark C. Henderson of of the 7800 block of Lockney Avenue in Takoma Park.
The Nissan that killed Mr. Henderson and fled the scene has damage to the left front bumper and fender areas, according to the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, which is handling the investigation.
At least part of the vehicle is believed to be silver in color. It is possibly a Nissan Altima or Sentra, however that is not certain because of common parts shared across many Nissan models.
