MoCo Fraternal Order of Police Issues Statement on Rise in Crime And Police Morale

The Montgomery County Fraternal Order of Police released a statement Tuesday evening regarding recent officer assaults and the rise in crime in the county.

The FOP is a fraternal organization of law enforcement officers throughout the United States.  According to their website, “Lodge 35 was formed to promote a more personal and efficient cooperation between the law enforcement officers in Montgomery County, Maryland, and to foster enforcement of the law, promote order, to encourage social, charitable, and educational activities among all law enforcement officers. We pledge to increase the efficiency of the law enforcement and thus more firmly establish the confidence of the public in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property.”

This is not statement from the Montgomery County Department of Police. The FOO is the local police union.
