New COVID-19 Mask Guidelines And Restrictions For Montgomery County to be Voted On Tomorrow
On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, will adopt a new health order to reflect the counties current vaccination rate, which is now 60% of entire population.
These changes are expected to go into effect Friday, May 28th.
According to Councilmember Evan Glass, changes will include:
- remove the capacity restrictions on outdoor gatherings and raise the capacity restrictions on indoor gatherings to 250 people
- remove the requirement to wear a face covering when outdoors pursuant to recent CDC and MDH guidance
- individuals who are fully vaccinated would not need to wear a face covering while indoors, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear a face covering when indoors
- align the requirements for summer camps with the State’s requirements * the regulation would be automatically rescinded on May 28, 2021 when 50% of the County population would be fully vaccinated
MILESTONE ACHIEVED:
60% of Montgomery County residents have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
