For Immediate Release: Wednesday, August 4, 2021

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) is offering two free virtual Mini-Comic Book workshops in August, one geared to ages 10 and up and the other to those 50 and up. The workshops will be facilitated by cartoonist, illustrator and animator, Leila Cabib.

The mini-comic book is a fun format for telling a story in words and pictures. Participants in each one-hour workshop can bring an idea to the program, which can take the form of a story, poem, recipe or daydream, and during the workshop write and illustrate a brief narrative that can be factual, fictional, or a combination of both.

Registration is required and attendees need to provide their own supplies. Each workshop will have a maximum of 20 participants. The workshops are funded in part by a Wheaton Cultural Project Grant from the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County.
