County Executive Elrich to Provide Update on COVID-19 Rent Relief Program on Thursday; Over 5,800 Households Assisted with More Than $32 Million in Rental Relief

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be joined by local landlords and tenants to provide an update on the COVID-19 Rent Relief Program. More than 5,800 households that are behind on their rent have received more than $32 million in rental assistance. The latest phase of the program provided $59 million from the U.S. Treasury Department and includes $31 million in direct allocation and $28 million from the State’s allocation.
The Rent Relief Program provides up to $12,000 or 15 months of assistance to eligible households behind on rent due to COVID-19 related income loss.
The press conference will be live-streamed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/montgomerycountyinfo and on County Cable Montgomery at Comcast/RCH Channel 6, HD Channel 996 or Verizon Channel 30.
Recipients of COVID-19 Rent Relief funds will be available for interviews.
Parking: Public parking is available on the lower level of the Council Office Building garage at the corner of Monroe and Jefferson Streets.
