Seven Story Apartment Complex Concept Proposed Next to Lidl in Montgomery Village

Evergreen Investment Company has shared concept plans for a new apartment complex they are looking to build next to the upcoming Lidl grocery store in Montgomery Village.  Lidl is currently scheduled to have their grand opening on February 9th.

According to the Village News, Evergreen released the plans with a virtual presentation that took place during a public meeting on December 7. You can download a pdf of the presentation here.

The Village News reports that at the December 7 meeting, Lerch Early Brewer Land Use Attorney Stacy Silber noted, “the plan currently called for parking spaces above the minimum requirement, which would be located on the first two floors of the complex, with approximately five stories of residential units on top. Two loading berths are provided, interior to the building and face the Lidl side of the building. Parking access into the building’s garage is also provided off of the façade facing Lidl. Pedestrians may then access the building from the garage through an elevator or stair entry. With this design, all vehicles would enter the building or front entry from the Lidl parking lot side of the proposed new building and not from Whetstone Drive; the entrance would not be viewable from Whetstone.”

Evergreen has not filed the plans with Montgomery County yet and said they were presenting the concept seeking community feedback.  They are looking to begin construction in Summer 2023.
