Adult-Only Boutique Burglar Arrested on Christmas Eve After Two Successful Break-Ins

Press release per the Rockville City Police Department:

Christmas Eve, typically a night for Santa to reward good little boys and girls with toys. Unfortunately, for one Rockville man, breaking in and stealing pleasure toys from an adults only boutique, not one but twice, has landed him right at the top of RCPD’s naughty list.

At 4:33 a.m. on December 18, 2021, Rockville City Police responded to a call for a burglary at 765 Rockville Pike, the Knock First Adult Store and Couples Boutique. Officers discovered a large rock was used to smash out the glass on the front door. The suspect stole numerous adult toys and erotic products and fled in an unknown direction.

On December 23, 2021, at 5:07 a.m. RCPD was dispatched for a security alarm call at 765 Rockville Pike, the Knock First Adult Store. Officers arrived within seconds and observed a car fleeing the scene. The store’s front glass doors were again smashed out and numerous items were taken.  It is estimated that over $2,400 worth of adult toys, pleasure products and other erotic merchandise was stolen in these two incidents.

Around 11:30 p.m. last night, an observant RCPD Officer was on patrol in the 1000 block of Rockville Pike and saw what appeared to be the same car seen leaving the Knock First burglary the previous night. The Officer stopped the vehicle, which proceeded to back up in an attempt to flee, striking the police car.  Based on evidence previously obtained at the burglary scenes, and the suspect’s admissions of his involvement and actions related to both burglaries, he was arrested and taken into custody.

Marcel Ivan Alvarez, age 23, of the 1000 block of Rockville Pike has been charged with two counts of Second-Degree Burglary, Malicious Destruction of Property, and Theft $1,500 to Under $25,000. He was taken to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and was released early this morning on a $250.00 cash bond.
