For Immediate Release: Wednesday, December 29, 2021

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will delay the restoration of Sunday branch service hours that was scheduled to take place effective Jan. 2 due to the increased spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant.

The hours of operation at all MCPL branches, except Maggie Nightingale (Poolesville) and Noyes Library for Young Children, as of Jan. 3, will be as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday, Saturday- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“MCPL is pleased to be able to add another eight hours of library service to the community at each branch effective Jan. 3, 2022, with the exception of Noyes Library for Young Children and the Maggie Nightingale Library,” said MCPL Director Anita Vassallo. “We intend to add Sunday as an additional day of service as soon as this is feasible.”
