On Thursday evening, Chef José Andrés tweeted that he was headed to Poland with his World Central Kitchen to see how they can help refugees after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Andrés founded the World Central Kitchen in 2010 with the goal of providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
“Is so sad to see how the Democracies of the world are looking to the other side! Putin is a Bully….and we are letting him massacre the little brother….when we are silent and look to the side, the bad people always wins!”, Andres tweeted.
Locally, José Andrés owns Spanish Diner at 7271 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda as well as DC restaurants China Chilcano, Jaleo, Oyamel, and Zaytinya.
Anyone who wishes to donate to World Central Kitchen can do so here.
