Woman Arrested and Charged with Child Neglect in Rockville

Per the Rockville City Police Department:

On March 23, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. Rockville City Police responded to 1251 W. Montgomery Avenue, the Best Western Hotel, for a report of child neglect. Hotel staff found three small children, ages 2, 6 and 11, sleeping alone in a hotel room with no parental supervision, and drug paraphernalia in close proximity to the children. During the course of the investigation officers were able to locate the mother of three children, and a man, asleep in a car in the hotel parking lot. Both appeared to be under the influence. The male subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The children are now in the care of Montgomery County Child Protective Services.

Mary K. Galvin, 36, of Silver Spring, Maryland has been charged with three counts of Neglect of a Minor as well as two counts of CDS Paraphernalia Possession. She was transported to the Central Processing Unit.
