Clarksburg Man Pleads Guilty for Role in January 6 Capitol Riot

David A. Blair, 27, of Clarksburg, plead guilty today to a felony count of civil disorder related to his participation in the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

According to a report by WMAR Baltimore, Blair attached a confederate flag to a lacrosse stick and used it to assault an officer in the chest.

In exchange for the guilty plea, federal prosecutors agreed to drop the charges of assaulting police with a dangerous weapon and obstruction of an official proceeding.

According to Jordan Fischer of WUSA9, a knife was also discovered in his backpack while he was being processed post-arrest, and that he told police he brought the knife with him to the Capitol because he was worried about “antifa.”

Blair is expected to be sentenced on July 13, and could face up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
