Planet Bethesda, a plant-based food festival, will take place on June 5 from 12-6pm at Elm Street Park in Bethesda. According to the events website, there will be more than a dozen area restaurants and vendors, live DJ, Bier Garten, and a plant-based pie eating contest. Participating restaurants include Dog Haus, Berries & Bowls, True Food Kitchen, and Tikka Masala. Entry to is the event is free and vendor food and beverage will be available for purchase.
Students can also volunteer at the event for SSL hours. Per the event, “Do you enjoy live entertainment and community events? Do you need Student Service Learning hours or a resume booster? We are in need of a few committed and inspired souls for Planet Bethesda. Planet Bethesda is a free event and features 18 restaurants and vendors, music, guest speakers, a kids zone and more! Planet Bethesda takes place at Elm Street Park on June 5th from 12:00PM til 6:00PM in Bethesda MD. Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt, food and some fun in the sun! Upon request, students can also receive service hours for volunteering in the festival.”
