Two Teenage Suspects Arrested in Connection to Montgomery Village Shooting

Per MCPD: 18-year-old Demari Brown, of Montgomery Village, along with a 16-year-old suspect, have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 18800 block of Walkers Choice Rd., on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

At approximately 12:26 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the location for multiple reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located two victims; a juvenile male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, who was transported to area hospital with serious injuries and Brown, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Through the course of the investigation, the16-year-old male was developed as a suspect. He was located in the area, arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged as an adult with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and multiple firearms related charges. He is being held without bond.

Detectives later determined that Brown and the 16-year-old were engaged in a shoot-out. Detectives obtained physical evidence and surveillance video which displayed Brown in possession of a handgun during the incident.

Detectives applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for Brown, charging him with first-degree assault, and multiple firearms related charges. Brown was arrested on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, and at the time of the arrest, a 9mm handgun was found in his possession. He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Procession Unit, where he was charged with additional firearms related charges. He is being held without bond.
