MoCo Resident Wins $200,000

A Silver Spring resident is $200,000 richer after purchasing four winning Pick 5 lottery tickets from a Hyattsville conveinence store last week. Full story below courtesy of the Maryland Lottery:
“A Montgomery County man told Lottery officials that he has played the same Pick 5 combination every day since the game began. In addition, he always buys multiple tickets with that same five-digit sequence. While his system might sound unwise to some daily numbers players, the 43-year-old had convincing results, winning a $200,000 combined prize.
“I picked the numbers, but they are completely random,” the 43-year-old Silver Spring resident explained. “2, 1, 6, 2, 4 just looked and sounded right to me, so I went with it.”

Those numbers looked and sounded even better when he learned via his Lottery app that they’d been drawn in the May 6 midday drawing. He knew that he’d purchased four tickets for the drawing, which meant four $50,000 top prizes. “I immediately dropped to my knees to thank God for the blessing,” he said.

The automobile repair specialist said he has no immediate plans for his combined $200,000 prize. The management of Hyattsville Convenience Store also benefits from selling four $50,000 winning Pick 5 tickets. The store at 2230 University Boulevard East will receive a combined $2,000 bonus from the Lottery for its lucky sale.”
