Update: MCPD originally reported that the bus was turning left from Plum Creek Drive onto East Village Avenue.
Montgomery County Police has released additional information regarding a collision involving a school bus that occurred in Montgomery Village/Gaithersburg on Friday, May 19. According to MCPD, “At approximately 7:42 a.m., 6th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Plum Creek Drive and East Village Avenue for the report of a traffic collision involving a Montgomery County School bus and a black BMW 328xi.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the school bus was turning left from East Village Avenue onto Plum Creek Drive when it was struck by a BMW traveling on East Village Avenue. The driver and passenger of the BMW were transported to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
There were six occupants on the school bus. Some occupants on the bus sustained minor injuries but none were transported to area hospitals.
Montgomery County Police are requesting any occupants of the bus to please contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.”
