New and Coming Soon to Montgomery Mall (October 2023 Edition)

Below is a list of businesses that are new or coming soon to Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, as well as upcoming events:
Now Open: Relax Station
Relax Station is now open on the mall’s lower level, near the Cheesecake Factory. This is Relax Station’s second location, as they also have a location in Westfield Wheaton mall. They offer massages from 15 minutes to 120 minutes ranging from $25 to $125. The owner, Sophia Pang resides in Montgomery County.

Now Open: Butter Chicken House
Butter Chicken House is currently holding its soft opening. The restaurant is located in the space that was recently home to Ya Mon! Island Grill, next door to Chick-Fil-A. Ya Mon Island Grill closed over the summer. According to its website, “Butter chicken, also known as “Murgh Makhani,” is a mouthwatering and beloved dish in Indian cuisine. It’s a rich and flavorful dish that combines tender pieces of chicken with a creamy and aromatic tomato-based sauce. The flavors are a perfect balance of savory, creamy, tangy, and mildly spicy, making it an absolute delight for the taste buds.” Menu items at Butter Chicken House include butter chicken, tofu, shrimp, and lamb, either over rice or as a wrap

Temporarily Relocated: American Eagle
American Eagle has set up a temporary shop while their regular location undertakes a redesign. You can find the temporary location on the second level near Macy’s.
 

Coming Soon: Lids
Lids will be located next to LEGO on the mall’s lower level. Lids is a “mall based, retail headwear” store that sells NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL licensed hats and merchandise. Lids has additional Montgomery County locations at the Clarksburg Outlets, Ellsworth Place (Silver Spring), and Wheaton Mall. The location is currently hiring and no opening date has been announced.

New: Napkin Nook (free diapers and formula)
“Westfield Montgomery is proud to partner with Bethesda-based non-profit organization, The Napkin Network for the “Napkin Nook” initiative in a testament to the mall’s ongoing commitment to the community. As 1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers for their children, the Napkin Nook welcomes those in need to take home essential baby items such as diapers and formula, making their parenting journey a little easier. Stationed on the lower level in front of the PlaySpace, the activation aims to bridge the gap between families in need and those eager to help, recognizing the challenges of motherhood and the persistent need within the community.”

Coming Soon: Pollo Campero 
Pollo Campero is coming to Westfield Montgomery’s dining terrace. It will be taking over the space recently occupied by Greek Aroma Grill. Menu items include fried and grilled chicken, empanadas, yuca, plantains, and flan.  According to signage, the restaurant is expected to open this winter. Pollo Campero has additional Montgomery County locations in Gaithersburg, Takoma Park, and Wheaton. The fried chicken chain, which originated in Guatemala, opened its first location in 1971 and has grown to over 400 locations worldwide, including over 70 in the United States.

Coming Soon: Rolex at Liljenquist & Beckstead
Westfield Montgomery announced the signing of an expanded lease with Liljenquist & Beckstead back in March. According to a press release, “The luxury boutique, housing exquisite collections of Swiss timepieces and stunning jewelry from around the world, will soon be home to a Rolex corner and storefront, along with an expanded selection of David Yurman offerings. The boutique will be built upon the existing location and expand into the former Lush and Swarovski spaces with Swarovski and Lush relocating nearby.” No opening date has been announced. 

Fall Remix Event: “This autumn, fall fashion takes center stage at Westfield Montgomery Mall’s remix event on Saturday, October 7. The city-making destination for high-brand fashion, luxury, and entertainment will welcome the new season with appearances from reality TV personalities, designer customizations, personal styling, fun photo opportunities, and more.  Ashley Darby and Gabby Prescod will headline the event with a fireside chat from 1pm to 2pm in the Nordstrom Wing on the Lower Level. Fresh off the latest season of runway shows from New York and Paris Fashion Week, Fashion editor Gabby Prescod will lead a lively discussion with fan favorite and Montgomery County native, Ashley Darby. Get a sneak peek into their lives and behind-the-scenes tales of their most memorable fashion statements. Beyond the glitz and the glam, discover the heart, passion, and sensibilities that drive their styles.

Leading up to the chat, fans can purchase $75 VIP tickets for a private meet-and-greet with the stars from 11am to 12pm at Nordstrom on the Third Floor. The exclusive experience includes sips from Windridge Vineyards, light bites, a gift bag, and reserved seating for the free fireside chat that will be open to the public. 100% of all proceeds from the VIP ticket sales will benefit The Chick Mission to support young female cancer patients with fertility preservation.

Additional highlights throughout the day include:

• An Exclusive Customization Station: From 1pm to 5pm, shoppers who spend over $200 will have the opportunity to elevate their new merchandise with personalized touches at a pop-up customization station in Center Court near Lilly Pulitzer on the Lower Level. The on-site offerings for customization will include:

  • monogrammed embroidery by StitchesDC

  • denim, leather, or cotton customization into wearable art by Jeantrix

  • custom painting commissions from local artist Courtney Mohring of Mohtown Art

  • a personal styling session from founder Rebecca Jahangeri Coleman of FullyStyled

• Fall Photo Moments: Uncover photo-worthy corners against an immersive backdrop of artistic fall foliage designed by Brightly Ever After. Snap Instagrammable photos in the Nordstrom Wing, or take home a live printed photo as a keepsake from the photographer who will be on-site from 1pm to 5pm at Center Court!

• Jolly Yolly Kids’ Camp: Parents can enjoy all the fashion fun while the kids are at play when they sign up here. A half-day camp package includes themed activities, supervised play, enrichment, and other activities from 12pm to 4pm for $40 per child.

• Live Entertainment: As the sun sets, Center Court will continue to buzz with excitement while a live DJ spins nonstop beats.

Coming Soon: Flip Circus
Flip Circus is coming to Montgomery Mall for 10 days from October 20-30th. The show will be located under a large white and red tent that will be set up in the parking lot area near the Old Navy entrance to the mall.  The circus features clowns, jugglers, acrobats, aerialists and “motorcycles inside the Globe of Steal.” Shows will take place at 7:30pm Monday-Friday and 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are currently available through the FlipCircus website. Flip Circus is “a brand new show with national an international acts. Inside its big top, people can enjoy all the
talents of acrobats, jugglers, dancers, clowns, trapeze, and much more. This talented team put all their passion
and heart into offering us a show to fall in love with.  A place where reality becomes magic!”
