What’s New and What’s Coming Soon to Montgomery Mall: November 2023

Below is a list of businesses that are new or coming soon to Montgomery Mall in Bethesda:
Now Open: Sheepskin Gifts & Alpaca Too
Seasonal business Sheepskin Gifts & Alpaca Too has returned to the mall for the upcoming holiday shopping season. The store offers items such as sheepskin steering wheel covers, boots, rugs, and throws.

Now Open: Mela
Mela (formerly Melashops), a south Asian fashion market, has rebranded and relocated to a new location near Forever 21. The store originally opened in Lakeforest Mall in 2019 and offers Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi apparel, jewelry, and accessories. “We are in effect, a mall-within-a-mall and the only multi-vendor shopping destination for South Asian apparel in the DMV area.” Their vendors provide the full spectrum of South Asian clothing, including sarees, dresses, menswear, kids wears, high-end bridal wear, fancy Bollywood party dresses, casual wear, as well as lots of detailed jewelry. Some vendors are permanently located at the store and other vendors attend as their schedule permits. Holidays such as Eid and Diwali can be especially packed and busy. The shop also has an experienced tailor on-site available for alterations and  to make custom matching blouses and dresses as needed.”

Coming Soon: Calzedonia
Italian women’s clothing line Calzedonia is coming to the lower level of Montgomery Mall, across from the LEGO store. Calzedonia specializes in leggings and swimsuits. We will provide an update when an opening date is announced.

Now Open: Relax Station
Relax Station is now open on the mall’s lower level, near the Cheesecake Factory. This is Relax Station’s second location, as they also have a location in Westfield Wheaton mall. They offer massages from 15 minutes to 120 minutes ranging from $25 to $125. The owner, Sophia Pang resides in Montgomery County.

Now Open: Mulier
Women’s discount clothing and accessory store Mulier is now open across from 7-Eleven on the mall’s upper level. Nothing in the store is over $9.99.

Coming Soon: Pollo Campero 
Pollo Campero is coming to Westfield Montgomery’s dining terrace. It will be taking over the space recently occupied by Greek Aroma Grill. Menu items include fried and grilled chicken, empanadas, yuca, plantains, and flan.  According to signage, the restaurant is expected to open this winter. Pollo Campero has additional Montgomery County locations in Gaithersburg, Takoma Park, and Wheaton. The fried chicken chain, which originated in Guatemala, opened its first location in 1971 and has grown to over 400 locations worldwide, including over 70 in the United States.


Now Open: Butter Chicken House
Butter Chicken House is currently holding its soft opening. The restaurant is located in the space that was recently home to Ya Mon! Island Grill, next door to Chick-Fil-A. Ya Mon Island Grill closed over the summer. According to its website, “Butter chicken, also known as “Murgh Makhani,” is a mouthwatering and beloved dish in Indian cuisine. It’s a rich and flavorful dish that combines tender pieces of chicken with a creamy and aromatic tomato-based sauce. The flavors are a perfect balance of savory, creamy, tangy, and mildly spicy, making it an absolute delight for the taste buds.” Menu items at Butter Chicken House include butter chicken, tofu, shrimp, and lamb, either over rice or as a wrap

Temporarily Relocated: American Eagle
American Eagle has set up a temporary shop while their regular location undertakes a redesign. You can find the temporary location on the second level near Macy’s.
 

Coming Soon: Lids
Lids will be located next to LEGO on the mall’s lower level. Lids is a “mall based, retail headwear” store that sells NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL licensed hats and merchandise. Lids has additional Montgomery County locations at the Clarksburg Outlets, Ellsworth Place (Silver Spring), and Wheaton Mall. The location is currently hiring and no opening date has been announced.

New: Napkin Nook (free diapers and formula)
Westfield Montgomery is proud to partner with Bethesda-based non-profit organization, The Napkin Network for the “Napkin Nook” initiative in a testament to the mall’s ongoing commitment to the community. As 1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers for their children, the Napkin Nook welcomes those in need to take home essential baby items such as diapers and formula, making their parenting journey a little easier. Stationed on the lower level in front of the PlaySpace, the activation aims to bridge the gap between families in need and those eager to help, recognizing the challenges of motherhood and the persistent need within the community.”

Now Open: Swarovski
Swarovski has reopened in a new location on the upper level of Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. Swarovski closed its previous location this past spring to make room for a new Rolex storefront at Liljenquist & Beckstead, which is taking over the former Swarovski space. Swarovski is an Austrian-based company that specializes in jewelry, watches, and crystal decorations.

Coming Soon: Rolex at Liljenquist & Beckstead

Westfield Montgomery announced the signing of an expanded lease with Liljenquist & Beckstead back in March. According to a press release, “The luxury boutique, housing exquisite collections of Swiss timepieces and stunning jewelry from around the world, will soon be home to a Rolex corner and storefront, along with an expanded selection of David Yurman offerings. The boutique will be built upon the existing location and expand into the former Lush and Swarovski spaces with Swarovski and Lush relocating nearby.” No opening date has been announced.
