Last week we reported that Montgomery County Police responded to an attempted carjacking on Sunday, November 26, at approximately 11:55pm. FOX5’s Stephanie Ramirez reported that the victim involved was Myo Maung, who owns Zao Stamina Ramen at 7345 Wisconsin Ave, in Bethesda. On Friday, MCPD issued the following press release with additional information about the incident:

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating an attempted armed carjacking that occurred on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in the 7300 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. Detectives have released dash camera video of the male suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

At approximately 11:53 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of an attempted armed carjacking. The investigation by detectives has revealed that an adult male victim parked his gray 2022 Porsche 911 in a parking space at the location. After the victim got out of the Porsche, a maroon Nissan Rogue stopped next the Porsche. Three suspects got out of the Nissan, while one armed suspect remained seated on the front passenger seat.

One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim, demanded his car key and hit the victim in the head with the handgun. The victim complied with the suspect’s demand. One of the other two suspects attempted to drive away in the Porsche, but the Porsche had manual transmission, and the suspect was not able to drive it. The suspects then got back in the Nissan and left the scene.

Detectives reviewed the dash camera footage of the Porsche and obtained a description of the suspects.

The suspects were described as:

-A Black Hispanic male, with a thin build, between sixteen and twenty years old, armed with a handgun, wearing a surgical mask, a black coat and a gray hooded sweatshirt

-A Black male, with a thin build, between sixteen and twenty years old, wearing a black coat, black jeans and light blue sneakers
