Montgomery County police responded to Westfield Wheaton Mall (11160 Veirs Mill Rd) for the report of a barricaded person inside of JC Penney on Wednesday, December 6.
According to police, “the store is being evacuated to allow officers to manage the incident. It is contained to the one area and there is no threat to the public. More information will be released when it is available.” MCPD is expected to release additional information momentarily. There is currently no threat to the public. We will provide an update when additional information is available.
