
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 18500blk of Boysenberry Dr, off Christopher Avenue in Gaithersburg on Saturday, December 23 for the report of a fire at a residential apartment building.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was located on the 2nd level of the building and was caused by a clothes dryer. The smoke alarm had been removed from the unit and the sleeping occupant was awakened by smoke. There were no reported injuries and two families have been displaced. Damage is estimated to be ~$50K, which is mostly water damage from sprinkler activation.
