Governor Moore Proclaims Purple Friday In Maryland in Honor of Ravens

 

Per the State of Maryland: “Governor Wes Moore today proclaimed Purple Friday in honor of the Baltimore Ravens incredible season.

Every Friday moving forward will be recognized as Purple Friday in the State of Maryland so long as the Ravens contend in the 2024 NFL postseason.

“Maryland, this is Baltimore’s time-which means we’ve got to show the nation why the Ravens Flock is the most loyal, most supportive, and most formidable fanbase in all of professional football,” said Gov. Moore. “For as long as the Ravens are in the playoffs this year, Maryland is going to be rocking the purple on Fridays to show our support for the winningest team in the NFL this season. I’ll see you all at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday to cheer on the pride of Baltimore-let’s go, Ravens!”

WHEREAS, The Baltimore Ravens have secured the best record in the National Football League, winning thirteen games in the regular season; and

WHEREAS, The Ravens’ stellar record has distinguished the team as number one in both the National Football League and American Football Conference; and

WHEREAS, Quarterback Lamar Jackson, who has thrown for 3,678 yards, rushed for 821 yards, and completed 24 passing touchdowns and 5 rushing touchdowns in the regular season, is unparalleled in competition for the National Football League’s Most Valuable Player Award; and

WHEREAS, The Ravens are the pride of the City of Baltimore and of the State of Maryland and the team and organization work in communities across the state to inspire hope and create unity; and

WHEREAS, The entire state of Maryland is behind the players, coaches, and Ravens organization going into this year’s playoff run; and

WHEREAS, The Ravens Flock is the most loyal, supportive, and formidable fanbase in all of professional football, as every opposing team will learn throughout the postseason.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, WES MOORE, Governor of Maryland, do hereby proclaim that so long as the Baltimore Ravens are in the 2024 NFL playoffs, every Friday moving forward shall be recognized as: Purple Friday in the State of Maryland.”
