Police Searching for Suspect Who Fatally Shot Snow Plow Driver in Ellicott City

Howard County Police are offering a reward of to $5,000 for information regarding a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, January 17.


According to police, “Alex Ramirez Garcia, 37, of Gwynn Oak, was working as a private snow plow driver clearing the parking lot of a Montessori school in the 4400 block of Montgomery Road when he was shot. A citizen located him outside of his vehicle in the parking lot 8:45 a.m. Through investigation, police learned Ramirez Garcia was scheduled to clear the lot early in the morning and may have been shot hours before he was located.

Police do not have any suspects and have not determined a motive, but do not believe it was random. Anyone with information should contact police at [email protected] or 410-313-STOP. You may remain anonymous.”
