3:38pm Update: MCPD remains on the campus of Benjamin Banneker MS following an assault between two female students. The situation is under control, and both students were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Students are being released on a staggered schedule.
3:13pm Update: Benajmin Banneker Middle School is still in shelter in place and will be doing a staggered dismissal.
Benjamin Banneker Middle School in Burtonsville is currently in a shelter in place.
Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 2:10pm: “Shelter in place at Benjamin Banneker Middle School. The school doors are closed, but normal operations following an assault involving two students.”
