
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the report of a fire in the 700blk of Amsterdam Terrace in Burtonsville on Thursday, February 15, after a 9-1-1 caller from a nearby building saw smoke.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was located in a second floor bedroom of a four-story residential apartment building and was caused by unattended burning incense. There were no smoke alarms located in the unit.
Three adults and three children have been displaced and damage is estimated to be $20,000. There were no injuries reported.
