Underground Pizza Co. (UPC) has opened a ghost kitchen at Sports & Social DC (1314 U St NW) in Washington, DC.
The company was started by Evan Weinstein, who began selling his Detroit-style pizzas at local “pop-up” events during the pandemic that were marketed through social media.
UPC opened its first brick & mortar location inside of Power Plant Live! in Baltimore in December 2020, followed by Silver Spring (8235 Georgia Ave) in February 2022, and Towson in May 2022. In addition to pizza, Underground Pizza serves wings, salads, “pepperoni infused” mac & cheese balls, and mozzarella sticks.
Last month, the Silver Spring location added beer, wine, and gluten-free pizza to its menu.
