Once Upon a Prom will be holding its 14th annual prom attire giveaway on Saturday, April 13 at Bethesda Chevy Chase HS (4301 East-West Highway) from 10am–4pm.

The event is open to all students, including those outside of Montgomery County. In addition to prom attire, the group is offering gift certificates for manicures, pedicures and blow-outs from area salons. Shoes, bags, jewelry, and cosmetics from Bloomingdales will always be given away.

“We have over 4,000 prom dresses in our collection, many of them brand new, with tags still on them. We are so excited to include 100 stunning brand new dresses from BEBE JUMP DESIGN in New York to the selection, gowns in high demand and currently selling in major retail stores. We would like to thank METROPOLITAN MOVING AND STORAGE for generously donating moving trucks and men to make this event possible.”

About: “Once Upon A Prom (OUAP), was founded 14 years ago by Brooke’s oldest sister, Carly, now 30, who also attended Bethesda Chevy Chase HS. When Carly graduated, she passed the baton to her next youngest sister, Peyton, who then passed the torch to the next youngest sister, Madison, who passed the baton to her next younger sister, Tory…….and, with a total of six sisters born in a twelve year span, this tradition continued, ending with the youngest and last Silver sister, Brooke. The club is now in the hands of BCC seniors Brooke Silver and her dear friend, Anna Antinolfi.

When OUAP first opened its doors in 2010, we gave away 27 dressed. Fast forward to 2024, and it delights OUAP to say that we now have a collection of almost 5,000 dresses. Over the decade-plus, we, with community support, have helped thousands of girls, boys, and non-binary students who might otherwise not have been able to attend prom. In our most recent event in April of 2024, we gave away almost 800 dresses. In 2024, we partnered with Children’s National Medical Center (Children’s Hospital) in DC to provide prom attire for the hospital’s first-ever prom for patients whose lives have been marginalized by illness.
The baton will pass again when Brooke and Anna graduate, but OUAP will continue to make dreams come true.
