Update – Just before 10am, the MCFRS HazMat Team determined it was ok AND safe to re-occupy.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) responded to OneLife Fitness at 4400 Montgomery Ave in Bethesda on Tuesday, February 27, for the report of a chemical/chlorine spill.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, emergency personnel were dispatched for “uncontained hazmat with chlorine leak while delivery of product.” The chlorine leak was isolated to a small area in the basement of the gym and Hazmat has made entry to assess and contain the issue.
