Wood Acres Elementary School Currently in Shelter in Place Due to Report of Person With Gun Near Campus

UPDATE: MCPD has determined that the report of a person with a gun at Wood Acres Elementary is unfounded. The scene is secure.

Wood Acres Elementary School at 5800 Cromwell Dr in Bethesda is currently in a shelter in place due to police activity.

Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 9:28am on Tuesday, February 27: “Wood Acres Elementary School is currently in a shelter in place following the report of a person with a gun near campus. MCPD is confirming the validity of this report. #MCPNews #MCPD”
