Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on ICC/MD 200

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police are investigating a fatal, single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that occurred on Sunday, March 3.


Per the news release: The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Collison Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday evening in
Montgomery County. On March 3, at 4:28 p.m., MDTA Police Officers assigned to the Intercounty Connector (ICC) Detachment responded to the eastbound lanes of the ICC/MD 200
near Shady Grove Road.

Responding officers located a Kawasaki motorcycle which had been involved in a single-vehicle crash. Officers also located a white Chevy Silverado which struck the motorcycle following the
initial crash. The Chevy did not strike the driver of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 41-year-old Rockville man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevy was not injured. This is an open and ongoing investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the MDTA Police at 410-537-6905.
