
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 100blk of Haviland Mill Rd, off New Hampshire Ave in Brookeville for the report of a barn fire on Tuesday, March 19.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was located in a non-hydrant area and was likely caused by either burning debris in a burn barrel near a detached garage, or an electrical service in the garage. Damage is estimated to be $200,000 ($100k structure/$100k contents). Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the scene and there were no injuries reported.
