Update: As of 8:42am, all lanes have reopened.
The Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management & Homeland Security (OEMHS) issued the following alert at 6:44am on Tuesday, April 2: “Overturned tractor trailer blocks the left two lanes of the Inner Loop of I-495 just before Exit 39 (River Rd/MD 190). This will be an extended incident that may persist through the morning commute. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”
According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer, the collision occurred near River Rd and MacArthur Blvd at approximately 2:30am. Several patients were evaluated and one person was transported to the hopsital.
