Free Virtual 50+ Employment Expo Takes Place May 14

The Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington and Montgomery County will host a free virtual employment expo on Tuesday, May 14 from 10am-3pm.

Per the news release: People 50-and-over who want to explore new career opportunities may find just what they are looking for at a virtual job fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14. The job expo will be sponsored by the Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington and Montgomery County.

Registration to participate in the job fair is free. Register at virtualexpos.accessjca.org. Participants can join the fair at any period during the time frame. They can easily join the fair, leave and then re-enter. More information about the career fair is available at FREE Virtual 50+ Employment Expo.

The event will include a 90-minute workshop created to help improve resumes and to help make LinkedIn accounts stand out. Shira Lotzar, CEO of Purposeful Hire, will lead the seminar.

From noon- 3 p.m. during the fair, representatives of 14 employers are scheduled to talk about their organizations and potential available openings. They will answer questions from attendees in the event’s chat.

Among the employers that are expected to be part of the career fair are the Montgomery County Government, the Federal Aviation Administration, Careers in Nonprofits and Easterseals.
