Chocolate Moonshine has reopened in a new location at Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda, taking over the space that was previously occupied by 7-Eleven.
According to Chocolate Moonshine, its fudge is made in ultra small-batches, hand-stirred in copper kettles, and cooked over an open flame. Its chocolate truffles are hand-painted with colored cocoa butter and have a “silky smooth shell with soft ganache center.”
Remnants of the former 7-Eleven, such as coolers, ice machines, and soda dispensers, are still present in the store, suggesting that Chocolate Moonshine may eventually offer more items for sale.
Swiss Chocolatier Läderach is expected to take over the space previously occupied by Chocholate Moonshine. Läderach is known for its FrischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) slabs, pralines, and truffles. We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.
