Back in January, Bao Bei at 11910 Parklawn Dr #O in Rockville temporarily closed to participate in a reality TV food competition. It has now been revealed that Bao Bei will be featured in the upcoming 17th season of Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, premiering on June 30th.
The Great Food Truck Race, hosted by celebrity chef Tyler Florence, is described as a cross between Cannonball Run and Top Chef. The competition features food truck operators racing across the country to participate in various cooking challenges.
Bao Bei is a “ghost kitchen” that is owned and operated by Gaithersburg native, Kevin Hsieh. Its menu consists of Baos, Rice bowls and side dishes, with the signature item being the Pork Belly Bao (slow-braised pork belly inside fluffy handmade buns) and is available for pickup and delivery.
