Local Nonprofit Bakery Announces New Donut Line

Sunflower Bakery, located at 5951 Halpine Road in Rockville, has announced the launch of its first-ever line of donuts on National Donut Day, Friday, June 7th. Sunflower Bakery is a nonprofit organization that trains young adults with learning differences for careers in the food industry.

According to the bakery, “Sunflower donuts are prepared fresh in house, and are egg free, nut free, dairy free, and kosher.  For the debut, the bakery will welcome members of the law enforcement community and have a variety of donut flavors including; Honey Glazed, Chocolate Dipped, Cinnamon Sugar, Raspberry filled, Lemon filled, and Boston Cream, with more flavors planned in the near future.”

About Sunflower Bakery: Sunflower Bakery is the largest program in Maryland that trains young adults with learning differences for employment success in pastry arts, hospitality, and food-related industries.
