Motorcyclist Killed in Wednesday Morning Collision

A motorcyclist was fatally injured in a single-vehicle collision on Columbia Pike in Calverton on Wednesday morning.

According to police, “At approximately 1:23 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue responded to the area of Columbia Pike and Fairfield Road for the report of a single-vehicle collision.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that for reasons unknown at this time, the driver lost control and ejected from the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision.”

“TRAFFIC ADVISORY: A traffic collision has Columbia Pike closed at Musgrove Road. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. Expect delays. #mcpd #mcpnews
UPDATE: A traffic collision has southbound Columbia Pike closed from Musgrove Road to Briggs Chaney Road and Fairland Road closed, east of Old Columbia Pike.”
