Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 14400blk of Brad Dr in Aspen Hill for the report of a single-family house fire at approximately 11:30pm on Thursday, July 4.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was caused by aerial fireworks that struck the carport roof and spread to the attic. The damage is estimated at over $500,000, with $400,000 in structural damage and $100,000 in lost contents.
One person has been displaced and there were no injuries reported. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
