Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a five-vehicle collision at approximately 11pm on Friday, July 12.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident occurred on northbound I-270 between Exit 6 (Rt. 28) & Exit 8 (Shady Grove Rd.). EMS evaluated seven patients for injuries– two patients sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries (priority 2 trauma). Five patients sustained non-life threatening injuries (priority 3 trauma).
We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
(9/12 ~11p) NB I270 between Exit 6 & Exit 8, Rt28 & Shady Grove Rd, collision, involved 5 vehicles, @MCFRS_EMIHS evaluated 7 patients, including 2 Pri2 traumas & 5 Pri3 NLTI, some lanes blocked .
