Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a bicycle in the 19800 block of Darnestown Rd. in Bealsville on Thursday evening.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the bicyclist was transported to a trauma center by Medevac helicopter with serious injuries. A Park Police officer administered critical medical care before EMS arrived.
At 6:58 pm, the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security tweeted: “Traffic incident closes all lanes of Darnestown Rd (MD28) at Beallsville Rd (MD109). Expect significant delay and seek alternate route.”
