Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School (13700 Wisteria Dr.) in Germantown at approximately 1:30pm on Tuesday due to a report of smoke in the building.
firefighters identified an overheated HVAC belt as the source of smoke in the building. The building was evacuated, but no fire was found. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) administrative staff and maintenance crews are handling repairs and notifications.
