Montgomery County firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire in the 12oooblk of Clarksburg Square Rd in Clarksburg on Saturday morning.
Seventy-five firefighters responded to the scene and assisted several occupants from the building. Twenty-four apartment units were affected and 43 residents have been displaced. Two residents and one firefighter were transported to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
According to MCFRS Spokesperson David Pazos, “1st 911 caller reporting smoke coming from her neighbor’s 1st fl apt at 0806:47, with neighbor not responding to knocks at the door. Resident told to pull fire alarm and evacuate, which started necessary evacuations before dispatch of @mcfrs at 0807:14am.”
