“A regular Maryland Lottery player from Frederick may struggle to relate his thoughts in English, but when it comes to talking about a $50,000 Pick 5 win, he comes across loud and clear: “Yes! I’m happy!”
The Western Maryland player won on a single $1 quick-pick straight bet ticket for the Sept. 12 evening drawing. His terminal-picked numbers, 89402, won the big prize. When he claimed his newfound fortune at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, the player remained euphoric. He is still deciding what to do with his windfall.
The Frederick County man bought the hot $1 ticket at the Royal Farms located at 6730 English Muffin Way in Frederick. The store receives a Lottery bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize, for selling a winning Pick 5 ticket worth $50,000.”
