Copper Canyon to Celebrate New Covered Dining Pier

Update: The ribbon cutting event is by invite only and closed to the general public.
Copper Canyon Grill (100 Boardwalk Place) in Gaithersburg will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) on Monday, October 7, at 2pm to celebrate the opening of 1,012 square foot covered dining pier on the RIO Lake.

Customers can access the pier via two gangways attached to the existing boardwalk and there are approximately a dozen tables that can seat four diners each on the barge. The section above the waterline and below the floor level is cladded with cedar wood planks. Both the structural columns and roof are made of wood. The roof contains architectural asphalt shingles with prefinished metal fascia to match the existing restaurant building and there’s a 3′-4″ steel railing system present on all four sides.

Copper Canyon has four locations (all in Maryland) and offers “full-flavored, fresh American cuisine, served in a casual, energetic atmosphere.” Per the restaurant, “Located in the heart of Rio Shopping Center, Copper Canyon Grill features a spacious dining room and offers a variety of private dining experiences. Our four-season terrace overlooks the lake and lively boardwalk. Our scratch kitchen offers a variety of hearty salads and entrees, including our signature wood-fired rotisserie chicken and featured items prepared by our chef daily. Copper Canyon Grill is the only certified green restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD.”
