Fire Displaces 3 Adults and 2 Dogs, Causing $150K in Damage

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) ) responded to a single-family house fire on Rolling Knolls Ct, off Goshen Rd in Gaithersburg at approxiately 6:45pm on Saturday, September 28.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, neighbors alerted the occupants to smoke and fire coming from the roof, allowing them to escape safely. Approximately 55 Montgomery County firefighters responded, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was caused by an overheated attic exhaust fan, which ignited nearby combustibles, resulting in $150,000 in damages and displacing three adults and two dogs. The home had working smoke alarms.
