The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional information regarding a fatal collision that claimed the life of a Brookeville teen in Sandy Spring.

Per MCPD: “At approximately 7:57 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, 17-year-old Sanaa Virtue Vil was driving a red 2005 Toyota Corolla northbound on Norwood Road near Ashton Forest Way. The vehicle failed to navigate a turn, colliding with a wooden telephone pole.

Officers from the 4th District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Vil, along with two other 17-year-old passengers, were extricated from the vehicle.  Vil was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers, one male and one female, were transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information to contact CRU at (240) 773-6620.”
