Sam’s Club Temporarily Closed Due to Loose Raccoon in Bakery

Sam’s Club at 610 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg is closed on Friday, October 25, after a raccoon was reportedly spotted in the store’s bakery.

According to Gaithersburg Police, “Gaithersburg Animal Services responded to the Sam’s Club located at 610 N. Frederick Avenue for the report of a loose animal. Upon arriving, an animal services official determined the loose animal was a raccoon that was in the bakery area. After attempts to locate the racoon were unsuccessful, Sam’s Club representatives were advised best practices to properly capture the animal.”

A representative from Sam’s Club tells us the store is expected to reopen on Saturday, October 26. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
