Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire at 407 Russell Ave (Asbury Methodist Village) around 6am on Friday, December 6.
According to MCFRS Assistant Chief Dan Ogren, a woman died after possibly catching fire while cooking, as reported by MoCo360.
Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer tweeted that firefighters extinguished a sixth-floor fire with minimal smoke and damage. A critically injured resident was found in the hallway. No sprinkler activation occurred. The building has since been reoccupied, with fire investigators and police remaining on-site.
