Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash on I-495 near University Boulevard, where a pedestrian was struck and killed on Tuesday, December 10.
According to Maryland State Police, “Around 3:30 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack responded to the area of inner loop Interstate 495 near University Boulevard for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, whose identification is being withheld pending next of kin notification, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The striking vehicle and driver did remain on the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was on foot when they were struck by a Ford.
All lanes have since reopened. The crash investigation remains active and ongoing.”
